AreopagusFree: All time

Areopagus, or Mars Hill, lies below the Acropolis. This rocky hill has been a site of mythical, historical and religious events. According to the Greek mythology, Ares the god of war was tried here for the murder of Poseidon’s son Alirrothios. In classical times, Areopagus functioned as the main homicide court of Athens. The hill was also where St. Paul the Apostle delivered his speech to the people of Athens. Today, it has become a popular place to spend summer evenings watching sunsets and the great view of the city when it lights up at night. Tips: Bring a company to split a bottle of wine with 🙂 For other stunning view of Athens, you can also visit Lycabettus Hill.
