Royal Botanic Garden EdinburghFree: All time

Located on one mile from city center, the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh offers 72 acres of greeneries. The garden was founded in 1670, originally as a physic garden to grow medicinal plants. Today, the collection grows to nearly 273,000 individual plants representing around 13,300 different species from all over the world. There’s a fee to visit the glasshouses but entry to the Royal Botanic Garden itself is free.
