Stamp enthusiasts should pay a visit to the Postal and Philatelic Museum in Athens. It boasts a collection that goes back to 1861 covering the history of Greek stamps and post office. Among the exhibits is a rare first stamp of the Olympic (dated at 1896 for the first modern Olympics held in Athens.) The original printing plates with the representation of the head of Hermes is also on display at this museum.
