The National Museum of China (NMC) flanks the eastern side of Tiananmen Square. The museum went under renovation for years before reopening in 2011. After the expansion, the Nation Museum has now 48 exhibition halls, covering historical pieces ranging as early as 1.7 million years ago to contemporary revolutionary relics. Many of the museum’s collection are the nation’s prized treasures, often featured in history books. The spacious museum and its vast collection make a pleasant experience for visitors. Be sure to bring your passport to gain entry to the museum.
