Ketagalan Culture CenterFree: All time

Ketagalan Culture Center is located across the street from Beitou Hot Springs Park in a multi-story building. It is a cultural center dedicated to the overview and history of 14 different indigenous tribes of Taiwan, including the now-extinct northern Taiwan Ketagalan tribe. During the beginning of the Japanese occupation, the area had some 200 Ketagalan people. None of the population survived. Photography is not allowed in the exhibit halls. Ketagalan Culture Center also provides language courses, research facilities, performances and art exhibits. Other free sites worth checking out while in Beitou district: Beitou Park, Beitou Geothermal Valley, Plum Garden, Puji Temple, Taipei’s first “green” public library, Beitou Quanyuan Park Foot Bath Area and the world-famous Yangmingshan National Park.
