Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial HallFree: All time

Perhaps the most recognizable landmark of Taipei, the Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall is located in a spacious square, with the structure frames on both sides by the National Theater and the National Concert Hall (both equally impressive buildings). If you’re tight on time in Taipei, this should probably be the place to be for a photo-op. The memorial hall celebrates the life and legacy of the Republic of China’s first president, Chiang Kai-Shek. In the hall is a large bronze statue of the main. A group of guards stand in the hall and the changing of the guard ceremonies happen every hour. It is worth your while catching one of the ceremonies. The basement of the building features a library and museum as well as souvenir stands.
